The newest edition to the Ruff Ryders is just 12 years old!
Lil’ Waah, son of the Ryders Executive Joaquin Dean and first cousin to Swizz Beatz, says he is looking to bring something new to the table.
“I’m different from all these other guys,” he explained to Hip Hop DX. “I’m trying to do rapping, singing. I’m not trying to do one thing. I’m trying to do a lot of stuff, dancing, making beats, producing, deejying, piano.” His talent is not the only thing he has going for him though, having Swizz and DMX as mentors is a definite plus. Last year while in Detroit with the rap superstar Lil’ Waah received some unforgettable advice.
“I performed, but I was rapping fast.” Backstage, “X told me ‘Don’t do this. You’ve gotta talk while you’re rapping so they can hear you’…He told me to relax, too.”
Friday, October 3, Swizz and Lil’ Waah caught up with 106 & Park, where they debuted the rising star’s newest video, “On My Arm“. The love song was inspired by an actual girl. For Lil’ Waah, writing is an important aspect of the work. “That’s how I express my inner peace, my inner self,” he stated.
A proud Swizz posted on Instagram “tune into 106 & Park to meet my lil CUZZO,” he added, “We must support the next generation”. Check out the clips here.
